Don’t let a priest fall in love with you!

A woman got a wine bottle smashed over her head by a Roman Catholic priest, who apparently loved her.

“He loved her,” Chaanine’s court-appointed lawyer, Jeff Banks, said later. “His emotions got the better of him. It was the biggest mistake of his life, and he’s going to have to come to grips with it.”

The woman, then 54, said Chaanine hit her in the head with a wine bottle, stomped on her hand, groped her and choked her until she began praying Jan. 26. She said he suddenly stopped and fled. Chaanine was arrested almost a week later near Phoenix.

He pleaded guilty to felony battery with a deadly weapon, although other charges of sexual assault, attempted murder and kidnapping were dropped. He was sentenced 4 to 12 years in prison.

My thing is, why do you become a priest when you full well know that you could possibly end up wanting a relationship with a woman, in a public setting. I’m not saying he wanted a relationship, but he said he was in love and he probably himself believed that he was, even though I don’t know how accurate that is.

It still amazes me to see how much abuse and assault that has occurred with this one specific group. Obviously men as a whole abuse or assault more than women do, but you would think that priest’s would have the morals to know that they shouldn’t abuse or assault women or children. Everyone is human, they make mistakes just like the rest of us, but what it is that sends them over the edge, when they know what they’re doing is utterly wrong?
